Hayley and Miranda Young are identical twins who are experienced education professionals and accomplished academics and athletes.
Hayley and Miranda both currently work as Financial Services Representatives for Capstone Partners, a comprehensive wealth management firm in Newport Beach focusing on retirement planning, asset management, investments, and insurance.
Previously, they worked at UC Irvine. Miranda served as the Associate Director of the Master in Finance (MFin), Business Analytics (MSBA), and Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MIE) programs at the Paul Merage School of Business, where she helped launch and manage these new degree programs. Hayley served as the Assistant Director of the New Venture Group at UCI Applied Innovation, where she was responsible for developing experiential learning programs to support UCI startups and help commercialize university technology.
Prior to joining UCI, Hayley and Miranda spent several years in North Carolina working for Duke University. Miranda served as the Assistant Director of the Master of Management Studies program, where she was responsible for a broad range of activities that support student life and culture—program strategy, logistics coordination, large programmatic event planning, faculty management, admissions, counseling, and teaching. Highlights during her time at Duke include creating unique frameworks for collaborative learning, launching new degree programs for untapped segments of the market, and opening a world-class campus in China, all of which contributed to Fuqua earning the ranking of #1 business school in the world by Bloomberg Businessweek for the first time (2015). Hayley served as the Education Programs Director for the Duke Innovation and Entrepreneurship Initiative, where she was responsible for creating curricular programming in innovation and entrepreneurship across the entire university. She helped develop and launch a new undergraduate degree in innovation and entrepreneurship, which quickly became the largest program of its kind on campus and graduated its first class in the spring of 2016. She also pioneered the program's e-portfolio and experiential learning models and spearheaded the department's assessment efforts, for which she was selected as a university Assessment Scholar.
Hayley holds master’s degrees from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education (Ed.M.) and Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business (M.M.S.) and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Irvine (B.S. with honors, Chemistry). Miranda holds a master's degree from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business (M.M.S.) and a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Irvine (B.A. in Economics, magna cum laude).
Hayley and Miranda were Division 1 intercollegiate tennis players at UC Irvine. Since retiring from competitive tennis after graduating college, they have stayed busy with their many athletic endeavors, including figure skating, marathon running, soccer, yoga, Pilates, and golf. They serve in leadership positions with the UCI Young Alumni Council and Women United (Orange County United Way) and are supporters and advocates for the Chiari and Syrigomyelia Foundation and Conquer Chiari organization.
